Question
can you please tell me if anything could give a false positive result for alcohol in a hair test. I have has a positive result but do not drink alcohol and do not understand how this could happen. Thank you.

Hi sue,

I have never heard of this myself. Hair tests are usually given to analyze mineral deficiencies. I have never heard of analyzing hair for alcohol. Perhaps they mean zinc levels. Alcoholics tend to be deficient in zinc, and this can be analysed in a hair tests. But people with a zinc deficiency are not necessarily alcoholic of have consumed alcohol.

Thus I cannot answer your question.
