Okay I have known this guy forever, since kindergarten to be exact. We dated off and on through high school and for the last 6 years he has been addicted to drugs. He has been clean now for 5 months, but has a hard time coping with the sober life. He doesn't respond well to discipline, and he doesn't do well with normal conversations. What do I do? I want to help him, I miss the old him, when he was sober and things were good. So please help me!

He is going to have to want help before anything will change unfortunately. You are trying to hard for him and that makes it easy for him to not try. Individuals who are actively using can't have normal conversations because they can't help it, they don't understand or comprehend where they truly are in their heads. Don't try harder then him.
