Question
Hi There.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.
my father has a major back problems and about two years ago he went through a procedure to install a tank of morphin in his back that feeds morphin directly to his spinal cord in order to numb the pain.
at a certain point i started to notice changes in his personality and behaivior.
I must say that he lives in a different country then me but we talk on the phone every day.
while the morphin is being fed to his body he became forgetful, confused and stressed.
now he is trying to reduce the amount of morphin but today he told me that lately he has been byting his tounge and lips a lot.
I wanted to know if this is a norman withdrwal symptom and what should I expect more.
thanks for your help

Answer
Dear Moshe Levy,

This is question that unfortunately falls outside my expertise. This appears to be more of a medical question and I feel this should be discussed with the doctor(s) treating your father.

There are some natural means to treat pain, but this is usually in relation to arthritis and other bone diseases.

We have an article on arthritis at our web site but I wonder whether this would be useful to you.

Please discuss your problems with your father's doctor.

Perhaps you can contact him by email.

I am sorry if I am not very helpful.
