Addiction to Drugs/oxycotton

Question
My daughter has been taken oxcycotton for 10 years.  They just keep giving her more and more for back pain.  She is also on a lot of other meds for a number of things like bi-polar, depression etc.  Sne has been into a phyc ward three times.  She has 3 children.  She does not cook, clean or do anything but sleep.  She is also a cutter.  Last weekend she cut her arm around 30 times. She has did this before and had to have stitches.  She is always in a bad mood and screams at the girls all the time calling them names and the oldest one espsecially.  She call her fat and a bitch she says she does not want her anymore.  The oldest girls just begs me to keep her.  I offered to help if she would go in a rehab program and get off the oxcy but she says never.  This is just the best part there is a lot more to the story.  What can I do to get her help since she will not.  Her boyfriend overdose on oxcy and she will too if we don`t get her some help.  Her kids saw the boyfriend when he died.  There was an autospy done.  Please can you tell me where to start.  Thanaks, Conney

Answer
Hi Conney,

This is indeed a difficult situation for you. Drug addicts cannot be helped if they do not want to take treatment.  However, if they are ready there is a way of helping drug addicts without them having to go into rehab, although it may be beneficial initially.

They can also be helped by a Nutritional doctor. You see, most drug addict are found to be hypoglycemic and the first step is to adopt the hypoglycemic diet.

She also need to be treated for her pain.

Please read the following articles and discuss these with a Nutritional Doctor.
