Question
what are the stats on recovery from opiate based addictions. my nephew just admitted his addiction to oxycontin and the rest of the opiate based stuff. he says he wants to get clean and i want to believe him but im also a realist. your answer will help me with my support plan. for him.

Answer
Hi berr,

The conventional treatment for drugs addiction is not so good. But if we consider drug addiction to be physical disease rather than a "psychological" illness, the chances for recovery are a little better.
