Question
I am a 32 year old female and I have been smoking cannabis every day since i was 15.  I smoke it like a smoker would smoke cigarettes, as in about 1 per hour or two, not very strong and i also use it to help me sleep at night.  I just cant give it up, i get really aggitated when i know its running low and bad tempered when i havent got any, all i can think of is how i want one.  I really wanna give up but find it soooo hard even using nicotine patches, can you please offer me any tips or advice?

Answer
Hello Gloria,

Marijuana  can be very addictive, and when we talk about addiction this is usually due to e metabolic disorder that in most cases can be treated by nutrition.

The metabolic disorder is one that most likely existed prior to smoking pot. Marijuana is an antidote to stress hormones, so if you bombarded by stress hormones then M can calm you down. Now most people would assume that these stress hormones are created by environmental stress, but in fact they are created due to an inner metabolic disorder that causes the body to overproduce these stress hormone quite independently from environmental stresses.

The reason for this is that the person may have been suffering from Insulin Resistance, which means that the body has problems with handling sugar. Sugar is the source of energy, and this energy is required to produce the relaxing neurotransmitters such as serotonin.

Thus when you want to get off drugs it is important that you go on a hypoglycemic diet.

Now this may sound a bit complicated to you, but it is all explained at our web site.
