Adobe Acrobat/word-pdf problem

Question
I'm using MS Word XP and Adobe Acrobat 6 professional but it failed to convert my word document to a pdf.  I tried both to press the "convert to pdf" in word menu and press "print-adobe pdf" but either works out a pdf for me. How can it be fixed?

Answer
Hi Abby,

This has happened to me before as well. Now I only create postscript files and then use Adobe Acrobat Distiller (which comes with Acrobat Pro) to create my pdf files.

Select print from the file menu, choose Adobe PDF as the printer and check the print to file box. Click print and a save file dialog opens, navigate to where you want to save the file and name it. The file will have a .prn extension.

Next open Acrobat Distiller and select the appropriate job options you need (high quality print, screen etc.). Double check with you print provider as to what set up is good for them and whether or not you need marks and bleeds.

Now drag and drop your postscript file you just created onto the Distiller window. That should create a pdf file in the same folder as your postscript file.

Thanks,
