Adobe Acrobat - print only part of .pdf doc

Expert: Ken Black - 9/5/2008

Question
I'm trying to print only a part of a .pdf doc.  I bought printable event tickets on
line.   The page is full of intense color graphics and advertising that will waste a
lot of MY expensive ink.  I want to print their wasteful color graphics in draft
mode and then the UPC bar to print in high quality.

Answer
Hey Dave,

As far as printing different parts in different printing modes, no you can't do that exactly.

Have you considered printing them out in grayscale?

In the print dialogue, select advanced options and change the print output to composite grayscale. This will print the necessary barcode as high quality and render the rest in levels of black and gray. Saves on some ink.

The other way you could do this is, assuming you are using Acrobat Pro, is to use the crop tool, under advanced, editing. Use the tool to select the areas you do not want to print and delete them.

Thanks,

Ken Black
