Adobe Acrobat/Forms in Adobe Professional 7

Question
Hi Ken,

I am having trouble with an interactive form that I created.  I created the form in Acrobat Professional 7 from a word document.  I chose the option to either print or email.  The problem I am having is that when I'm getting the completed forms back or actually the data back on my email and I try to open it in the form it won't do anything.

I am saving the xml document that I get in an email and then open the pdf form and go to advanced/ forms/ import data to form and I chose the file that I saved from the email and nothing happens.

Can you help me with this?  Does it have to do with the way the form was created?

Thanks!

Answer
Hi Mireya,

It sounds like the problem is in the XML document that you are receiving. Try filling out the form and exporting the XML file on your desktop. Then open a blank form and try to import the XML. If it works, then I would look to how the XML is being created by other parties or your email may be the one to blame. Some email accounts that are accessed by a web browser do not keep certain files straight and ultimately change them into html, this happens on occasion with Exchange Server email.

Sorry I cannot be of further help in this matter.

Thanks,

Ken Black
