Question
I'm a graphic artist I want to create an Electronic Portfolio that looks good to
show future clients my work, I work on a mac G4 & use Indesign Illustrator
standard print graphic programs. I would like to be able to email this
eportfolio or pull it up on my laptop in front of them. What program can I use
to do this, that is either FREE or very cheap. I lost my job (agency closed) and
I'm trying to get work with this eportfolio can you help. Thanks David

Answer
Hello David,

You could use Indesign for your initial layout.
I would recommend creating it in the same way you would for print production, as in use high resolution images and colors that will translate into the cmyk color gamut. That way you can have a document that can be printed and used as a "leave behind" with interviewers and job prospects. You can find high quality, low cost, <a href="http://www.bestprintingonline.com">online printing</a> online printing of such a booklet here:

Depending on the version of Indesign you are using, you can add navigation and interactivity to your portfolio, such as hyperlinks, table of contents and multimedia objects that can a polished feel.

Once you have completed your design, export it from Indesign as a pdf using the smallest file size preset. This will give you a file that should be easily emailed and/or placed online.

Thanks,
