Adobe Acrobat/Acrobat and Outlook Express

Question
Hi,
I've downloaded and installed 9.3 and can open documents from the Acrobat program with no problem.  But whenever there is a pdf file attached to an e-mail in my Outlook Express and I double click, I get a message that I need to install Acrobat--and not even the current version.  Any experience with this problem?

Answer
Hi Art,

Sorry, I can't say I have experienced this issue.

My suggestion is that you do not open attachments from Outlook Express that way.

You are better of downloading the attachment first and then opening it.

This will give any security or virus protection you have a chance to scan the file first.

It will also prevent Outlook or Windows from trying to associate the file with something else, which may be happening here.

Windows may be trying to open it within a browser (possibly Explorer) using a pdf viewing plug-in that you may not have installed or active.

Thanks,

Ken Black
