Question
Can you compile e-books using Adobe Acrobat or do you need to have specific e-book compiler software?

Is there any good free or inexpensive shareware e-book software you can recommend ?

Thank you

Answer
Hi Alan,

Yes you can compile an ebook using Acrobat Professional by merging pdf files that you have already created. You can also add in various forms of other media as well such as audio and video. Acrobat can also handle much of the interactive functionality of and ebook as well. You are really only limited by individual creativity and/or what content you have available. I highly recommend that you go through the manual for Acrobat and utilize the help section and forums at www.adobe.com if you decide to go with Acrobat.

As for inexpensive shareware software, I really do not have any reliable recommendations at this time. You might try taking a look at what they have going on at www.planetpdf.com. They have an alternative to Acrobat that I have heard some decent things about but, I have not personally had any experience with there software beyond a cursory view.

Thanks,
