Question
how do I password protect multiple PDF's at one time?
I have been adding security to my PDF files one at a time but there are to many can you help add a password to all of them at once?

Answer
Hi Heidi,

What version of Acrobat are you using?

In Acrobat Pro 9, under the Advanced menu, choose Document Processing -> Batch Processing.

In the Batch Processing window, click New Sequence, give it a name, in the next window click Select Commands. In the Edit Sequence window, scroll down the list on the left and choose Security and click add, if it isn't visible, open the Document folder in the list.

Select the Security sequence and either double click it or click edit to open it's properties. Choose the type of security you are adding to the files.

After setting up the sequence choose how the process behaves, that is when it runs and where it saves your files. You can have the sequence run when documents are open or choose a folder or list of files.

That should automate the process for you.

Thanks,
