Question I am having a horrible time with trying to get Adobe to work. It is downloaded and will show a file on screen but when I try and print it , a box comes up and says Adobe Reader has stopped working and WIndows will try and find an answer to repair and then closes. It was working when I first got my laptop (with Vista ) 3 weeks ago but for the past week all I get is this message. I went to Adobe page, I had the computer check the program and they all said I have the latest version installed. I am not computer knowledgeable so I am truly beside myself. Thank you for any help or advice. Thank goodness for kind people like you who are willing to help those of us who "really" need help.

First, let me say that I am very sorry for what I thought would come off as funny (related to that "I don't even use Vista" comment) - I certainly did not mean to offend you ! I should know better that humor rarely works on forums or in e-mail, never mind when someone is desperately trying to overcome as serious a problem as you encountered.
I should have read you question more carefully, as it was clear that you were not in a situation where you had a choice - you bought a new computer, and could not get something to work properly - and I should have kept my lame attempt at comedy out of my response.
Hopefully, you have found some help by now - if not, feel free to contact me directly at michaelejahn@gmail.com - I at least owe you the help you deserve. My one comment - 'you are not alone' - has become even more obvious - there are many bloggers ranting and seething about all the major issues and problems with installing and running Acrobat on Vista. I am close personal friends with several people MUCH smarter than I having problems - and some of them actually work at Adobe and Microsoft!
If you are still having issues, please do not hesitate to post them here or send them to me personally - I promise to help !

Hi Mary Lee,
I am so sorry to hear of your troubles - but you are not alone. When you said "I am not computer knowledgeable.." I thought to my self "then why did you go with Vista?" - I don't even use Vista yet ! Start here...
