Expert: Michael Jahn Date: 5/21/2007 Subject: Auto filling in date field
Question Is there any way to set up a text field so the current date automatically fills in when the document is opened? Thanks!
Answer Certainly - Can I will assume that you have Adobe Acrobat Pro and perhaps may not be all that familiar with the Adobe Life Cycle Designer that you can use - in Adobe Acrobat, go under the Advanced menu, Select Forms then cascade select Create New Form - Once you are there with a new document, go into the Library, select Date/Time Field, click and drag (to create the form field) then in the Object, in Value, for Type; select Calculated/read-only and for Runtime property; select Current date/time.
Hope this helps !
I can e-mail you a small sample PDF file that does this if you send a request to michaelejahn@gmail.com
