Adobe Acrobat - Getting Distiller to work on XP

Expert: Carol Ott - 7/18/2003

Question
Dear Carol,
I have Adobe Acrobat 4.0.  I am running on XP.  I am doing graphics in Print Artist 4.5 and convert my files to pdf.  For some reason, I cannot find Distiller on my computer.  Nor can I find any postscript files.  On my old computer, both printers, writer and distiller, are options in my computer folder.  My old computer was Windows 98.  How do I get distiller to work on my xp?

Answer
Hi there --

I'm running XP, and I had to do a complete reinstall of Acrobat in order to get Distiller to show up.  In your PROGRAM FILES>ADOBE> folder, can you see that Distiller's installed?  If so, you could try doing a INSTALL PRINTER from the START>SETTINGS>PRINTERS AND FAXES menu.

If you can't find Distiller at all on your computer, then you can do an install again -- just choose Distiller when you put in the CD.

Carol
