Question Hi, When I've scanned a document as a pdf and then opened it in Adobe Acrobat Standard 7.0 in order to use the touch up text tool to add a few words and/or change some text, it doesn't always want to work. Do you have any suggestions as to what the reason for this can be and what I can do to make it work. The very first time I tried it a few months ago, it did work fine, and now something must have happened. Could it be a stupid windows update or java update that is causing problems?
Answer When you scan a document and open that scan in Acrobat, it is an image - there are no 'text' elements to edit. I think you may be a little mixed up, as this would never work as you described. You probably were editing text that came from a PDF that was generated from an authoring application. Even if you OCR the type - you can't visualize the type changes. In this case, you would need to open the scan in Adobe Photoshop, erase the text and type your changes. I wish it were that easy (and so does everyone else !)
