Subject: FM printing only first page of each chapter in the book - ignoring all other pages

Question
Hi,

I am a novice user of FM and learned it on the job. We are facing a problem that my supervisors can't understand too!

I created a book by adding all the chapter files to it and did the numbering and pagination accurately too. However, you know where the FM window shows the page range in the bottom bar.... like i-vi, 1-230, for all the pages in the book, that area only shows 1*, 2* etc... like it shows the chapter numbers, instead of the page numbers.

I hope you understand what I mean. When it shows the entire range, then I can keep a check on the numbering and the order of the pages. Please help!!!

Answer
I am a little confused: Your subject line talks about printing - but your question is regards to the "page" numbering as viewed on the "Book" bar.
In answer to the page numbers like 1*, 2*, shown in the "book" bar. This is just telling you that you have changed something in one of the files in the Book. All  you need to do is save the book and then you can move the cursor "down" the list of files in the book and the page numbering will be displayed.
As a further note - I usually setup my page numbering at the file level and then when I am at the Book Level - for page numbering - I select "Read from file." If the numbering in the book is different than the file - the book will over-ride the numbering in the file unless you have the "read from file" button selected. You can select all files in a book and make this change to all files at once.
Hope this helps you out.
If not ask again.
Regards, Wayne.
