Question I added a new chapter to my book, and I need to know what to do to have it appear in my TOC? It doesn't seem to be seeing it at all.
Answer First - the TOC has to be a file generated by the Frame Book. You cannot manually add this document.
About the only thing that keeps you TOC from not showing up is you are using a paragraph tag that is not being used for your TOC, (i.e your TOC is using a paragraph style named "Title" and you have not used this tag in your new file.
To Check this accomplish the following:
With your Book Open - on the Menu Bar - Select - ADD - TABLE OF CONTENTS and on the left side of the "box" is the style('s) that you are using for your TOC.
Now go to your file which is not printing any information and apply that style where you want.
Note: If you imported this style from another document - you will need to reapply the style. Go to FORMAT - PARAGRAPH - DESIGNER - then in the "Paragraph Tag Box" find your style and reapply it.
If this doesn't work - you will need to send me the Book and the document that is not showing up.
Send me your book - and 3 chapters - plus the chapter that is not showing up. ZIP the files and I will take a look at them.
Be sure to put Framemaker in the Subject Line.
