Expert: Wayne Johnson Date: 3/4/2008 Subject: Converting from FM to PDF - Pantone Color Lost
Question Hello Mr. Johnson,
I followed your directions from 12/27/07 "Framemaker colors in PDF". I am having the same problem. My pantone purple 2735 turns into Royal blue when I save the file as a PDF. I saved the file as a .ps as you suggested but when it converted it switched the color again to royal blue. This is a royal pain! :) I did select in acrobat distiller to "leave color unchanged" but that did not work. Help!!! I have been trying to solve this problem for the past four hours. What is wrong?? Thank you in advance for your assistance!
Answer What you are getting is one of the basic problems with the computer. What you see is not what you get.
Frame uses a CMYK process while the screen uses RGB.
