Adobe Framemaker/Book footer problems

Question
I am new to FrameMaker, so I apologize if this is a simple question, but I am having inconsistent footer problems. For example, the page numbers alternate sides of the page so that the page number is always on the outside of the page. In certain spots, the page numbers mess up and stay on the same side of the page. How do I resolve this? (I'm in FrameMaker 7.2).

Thanks SO much!

Without viewing your document, my guess is:
You need to make sure that you are using the MASTER PAGE's correctly. You will need a Left and Right Master Page. Framemaker always gives you a "RIGHT" Master Page.
Try the following with 1 of your documents.
On the Frame Menu Bar - select FORMAT - PAGE LAYOUT - PAGINATION: Then select "double-sided" and the "Left" Master page will automatically added.
Then just go to the Master Pages and setup the left and right the way you want them to appear and all should work OK for you.
Also what you need to remember if you have your files in a "BOOK" and you have selected "continue number" the first page of your current document could be page 10, 11, 12, etc., depending on what the last page of the previous document was.

If this doesn't solve your problem then send me a copy of the file that is giving you the trouble and I will take a look at it.

Be sure to put Framemaker in the the Subject area.
