Subject: Split Images

Question
Hi,

Why images often split into many small parts of gif and not loaded as one whole image ?

And how do you split an image so that it still looks like one perfert page on the web ? In Photoshop ?

thanks

Jojo

Answer
Hey, Jojo

The reason images are split into smaller pieces is so that the download time is short.  The smaller the image, the shorter the download time when someone is accessing the web site.

The best way to split up images is with a program like image ready,(by Macromedia) or something like that.

Open the image in Image Ready, then splice(split) the image accordingly(however you want).
Once the image is spliced, add each piece of it to a table with no borders and no spacing so that it will appear as one large image on the web page.

I hope this helped...
Feel free to contact me again if this is not clear.

M.D.
