Question
Trying to covert image files from tiff to jpeg, I go through the process change everything to what I need it to be, press the okay button and I get the error message Insufficient memory was available to complete the operation.

Answer
Hi Claudius,

Is there a reason that you are not doing this in PhotoShop? It's really not a task that one would do in Illustrator unless they had to.

If you are doing it in Illustrator because you have to, try using the Save for Web command instead of what you are doing.

If you are using the save for web command and are receiving the error, it is probably really a memory error... try adjusting the amount of memory allotted to the Illustrator application by doing a Get Info on the Illustrator application icon and increasing the minimum memory number.

Is it a really large image?

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
