Hello Laith,

Could you tell me which of the following file types are supported (can be imported) into Illustrator?

.bmp, .png, .jpg , .svg.

Hi Pat,
All four file types (BMP, PNG, JPG and SVG) are supported and can be placed into Illustrator.
There are many other supported formats, among them are:
PSD, TIF, EPS, PDF, CDR, DXF, EMF, WMF and others.
