Adobe Illustrator/page tiling doesn't center print on paper

Question
Kevin, I have Illustrator 8.0. I am doing a church bulletin in landscape. On the inside page the page tiling has a larger margin on the right side than the left. I took the page tool and centered it but when I printed my sample out, it left about 1/8 border on left side and 3/4 on the right side. If you can help me solve this problem I will be so grateful. One other thing, I can't figure out how to make the lettering block style instead of all flush left or flush right, or centered. I hope you understand what I am saying. Thank you for any help.  Glenda

Answer
Hi Glenda,

This is a common mistake. You should make your margins equally on both sides to start. Your printer shifts the image when you print due to printers margins, which means your printer needs 1/8-1/4" space to grip the paper. When you print measure how far it shifts and move the pieces in Illustrator to match.

Next, under the Window menu, go to Type>Paragraph. This will bring up the paragraph palette. You can change the justification there.

Thanks

Kevin
