Adobe Illustrator/printing issues with illustrator cs3
Expert: Kevin Stohlmeyer - 1/29/2008
QuestionQUESTION: i have just installed leopard os x 10.5.1 on my mac and updated to illustrator
cs3. ever since then i have been having issues printing from illustrator, other
applications are no problem. either the file takes forever to come out, or
doesnt come out at all. i have been reading through random forums, with
people that appear to be having the same issues, but no one seems to have a
solution.
any ideas?
thanks,
airianne
ANSWER: HI Airianne,
Unfortunately the forums are right. There are problems with CS3 and Leopard. Both Adobe and Apple are currently addressing them and a patch update should be available by the end of this month. Hopefully. I have not heard of any major issues with Illustrator however.
Perhaps you can elaborate. What exactly do you mean by "coming out"? Opening the file, saving, exporting, etc.

QUESTION: first, thanks for the speedy response. by "coming out" i mean that the file
never prints at all, or it takes forever to print. and sometimes i get a weird
print error, "cannot print illustration", i have been doing a quick fix for the
error msg by just copying and pasting into a bland document. hopefully the
patch will help. my print jobs from illustrator are jamming up the printer (my
co-workers are not happy)
AnswerWhat printer are you using, it could be a compatibility issue with your printer that needs a driver update to work with Leopard (epson was a HUGE problem). Both HP and epson now have updates, however, Epson did drop service on several models. Check their websites for more info.
Thanks
