Question

some strange red boxes have appreared on the Illustrator image I am creating. The box has a number and next to it is a box with a wavy line through it. What is this and how do i remove it. it is only on the screen - not when printed out.

Good morning Dal,
Those strange red boxes and numbers are the slicing information. Were you slicing your artwork to place it on the web? If not then you were using the wrong tool. To see which tool I'm referring to please press "Shift+K" and the tool will be selected in the tool box. You use it only when you're designing for the web.

To remove them you can simply select and delete them. If you can't because they are locked, simply go to "View > Unlock Slices" to be able to delete them.
You can also hide them by selecting "View > Hide Slices".
