QUESTION: When I opened illustrator this morning I am getting a Runtime error- This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.Please contact the application's support team for more information.
When i am trying to reinstall from control panel the wizard was interupted and it says to complete install at another time, please run setup again.
I woudl be grateful if you could help me fix this problem.
I use Windows Vista home premium.

ANSWER: Hi Anyadhya,

You cannot reinstall from the control panel. You will need to uninstall and reinstall from the Adobe Installer, not the vista control panel. If you get another runtime error, you should reset the app preferences (hold ctrl+cmd+alt+shift on startup). But since you have started to attempt a reinstall, you will need to uninstall and reinstall now.

I would appreciate if you can give me a more detailed description of how I can go about uninstalling.
I use a Dell inspiron 1420 and I got windows vista home premium.

ANSWER: Hi Anvadhya,

In your Illustrator application folder there should be an uninstall application. Or you can use the same control panel you were using to uninstall applications.

I was trying to install CS2 illustrator and this problem had occured.Do think if i try download a more recent version I would be able to sort out this problem?

Do you have an actual DVD that you can load the original application from? If so, there is an uninstaller program on that DVD that will uninstall completely and reinstall for you without errors. If this is a copied version of AI you will be out of luck.
