I have used Illustrator 2CS for some time now...with only an occasional problem of it crashing. But, lately I cannot start it up at all.. I click on the icon to open and it says that 'the application AI CS2 quite unexpectedly... relaunch etc.', and I have reinstalled twice now with no success. I have dumped preferences,etc... is there something I am not doing that I need to? Conflicts I should know about? HELP... this is my lively-hood.

Hi Karen,

Without knowing what operating system and specifics you have (RAM, etc.) there are only general suggestions I can give.

1. You are out of memory and do not have enough to run Illustrator.

2. You have loaded a conflicting font and it is crashing Illustrator.

If you can send me your computer (windows, mac, what version, etc.) and how much RAM you have installed that will help me narrow it down.
