Adobe Illustrator/faint dots around a logo

Question

Ascendant logo
Hi,  I'm far from an expert on illustrator and photoshop.  My problem is that I created a logo in illustrator, opened up in photoshop to save a a jgp and then when I place the logo in documents I see faint grey dots around the logo.  I can't get rid of the dots and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Tishy,

The faint softness you are seeing around your logo appears to be bitmapping from your image. Double check your resolution (anything less than 200 dpi would result in some rasterization). However, you can actually export JPG file formats from AI via File>Export. Also, do not compress your file at all.

If you wish to edit these in PS, be sure to use File>Place to bring them in so they will be Smart Objects and remain crisp.

Thanks
