Adobe Illustrator/CS3 export to SWF pixelated

Question
I am trying to export some icons to SWF files and they are not coming out correctly. If I use a white to black gradient and "screen" the layer to create a highlight, it exports as the white to black rather than what's viewed. Also, when I export some gradients, esepcially radial, it actually pixelates the entire image. This does NOT happen when i export the same file in CS2 -- BUT I do get little white hairlines in the SWF. Are these bugs?

Answer
Hi Donna,

These are not bugs, gradients are rasterized effects. You need to go to Effects>Document Effects Raster Settings and change the document to a hi-res (300 dpi) before you export. This could help. However, SWF is not a great choice for gradients even though it is considered a "vector" file format for flash.

Try this and see if your gradients turn out better.

Thanks
