Adobe Illustrator/Color Management Profiles

Question
I'm not exactly sure what happened. But all of a sudden all of my vector images that I create in illustrator cs2 become pixelated and have low resolution color. I think the color profile was corrupted or something. So when I go to save my image it no longer looks how it does in illustrator? It looks like I made it in paint. Does that make sense? I was just wondering how I would go about resetting the color profile settings or all the settings for the matter back to default as I think that would help alleviate the problem.

Answer
Hi Kristin...

It actually sounds like you accidentally skipped into Pixel Preview, which is toggled on and off in the View menu.

But if you want to reset all your prefs, simply quit Illustrator first, locate and delete the AIPrefs and AI Color Settings files and restart Illustrator!

You may also choose to delete the entire Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings folder... it will be re-created the next time you launch AI. But all of your collected plug-ins, saved styles and symbols will also be gone, so I've never actually done this "radical" move.

Good luck!
