Adobe Illustrator/Default

QuestionI am suppose to put ADOBE Illustrator back to default in order to participate with Classroom in a Book. The instructions that are in the book tells me how to do it as though I knew what it is talking about. I do not know how to find the AIPrefs located in Documents and Settings, (I don't know how to access that) > username > Application Data > Adobe > Adobe IllustratorCS3 Settings folder. I do not know where to go to find this. I know you can help.
AnswerHi Connie,
The "aiprefs is a hidden window file. Do not worry about the path you found in the book and follow the following steps:
1. SHOW THE HIDDEN FILES: Double click on "My computer", under "Tools" select "Folder Options". Click on the "View" tab. In the advanced setting select "Show hidden files and folders". The last option will make the "aiprefs" file visible.
2.SEARCH FOR AIPREFS: Click on "Start"/Search/Search for files or folders. Click on the option "All files and folders". Type "aiprefs" (NO QUOTATION MARKS) in the first field. In the 3rd field choose either "my computer" or Drive "C". Click "Search". Windows will find the "aiprefs" file for you.
3. DELETE THE "AIPREFS" FILE
When you open Illustrator, it'll start with its default settings.
Deleting this file is sometimes a good way to fix Illustrator if it doesn't start or when you think it became unstable.
Please let me know if everything worked out well for you and good luck with your Illustrator Class. I'm sure you'll love the software.
Best regards,
Laith
