Adobe Illustrator/Bitmapped printing in illustartor cs3

Question
Hi,

I recently upgraded to CS3, and now when I am printing to my Canon i9900,
the prints are reasonably high-res but noticeably aliased (maybe 300dpi or
so). Previously (printing from illustrator 10) the prints of the same files were
beautiful with no visible aliasing, so I know the printer is capable of more.

I have noticed that "print as bitmap" setting is checked, and grayed out so
that I can't un-check it. I've bumped the rasterizing settings up as high as
2400 dpi and that made no difference. What the heck is going on here?

thanks,

Michael.

Answer
Hi Michael,

I would check to see if there is a print driver update for CS3. Many manufacturers came out with new updates after CS3 was released. Even if you did update, I would reinstall it now that you have CS3 on your computer. Sometimes additional plug-ins are required to gain access to the full features of a printer.

Thanks

Kevin
