Adobe Illustrator/Illustrator Object Resizing

Question
QUESTION: For some reason I can no longer use the mouse to resize objects in Illustrator
and use the shift key to keep the proportions.  I've tried changing the
preferences, switched to a different mouse and keyboard, but nothing helps.  It's
as if I'm not holding the shift key down while I re-size.  I'm going nuts!!

ANSWER: This is not due to your hardware Mark, its due to your system software. Generally this is a common problem with Macs and is fixed with running all updates from Apple.

Thanks

Kevin

QUESTION: Thanks, but all Apple updates are installed and I'm 100% current.  Any other
ideas I could try?  I saw on another thread somewhere that several people had
the same problem and it was, oddly enough, caused by Entourage running at
the same time, but I don't use Entourage.

Answer
Sorry Mark,

If you are up to date, I am at a loss. I checked with Adobe and they are unaware of any other incompatibility issues. Have you tried resetting your preferences? Hold shift+ctrl+opt+apple as soon as you click the icon to start up illustrator. If that doesn't work, you may try reinstalling, but I still feel this is a mac problem, and not Illustrator.

Thanks

Kevin
