Question
hi.
Im using CS1 ilustrator and photoshop.  All working fine untill about a month ago. Illustrator wont bring psd files to the front.  they always sit at the back.  I tried saving a file to eps but the same thing happens it will only put it to the back.  Im not sure what do to!

Answer
Hi Alison.

My guess is that the imported image is sitting on the bottom layer of your Illustrator document.

In Illustrator, look at your Layers palette (F7) and see which layer the PhotoShop image is on, compared to the other artwork in the document.

If it's on the bottom layer, drag that layer to the top of the layer list and see if that does the trick.

Let me know if this wasn't the right answer.

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
