Adobe Illustrator/transparency on vector images

Question
I am trying to make vector images for a software program that my company is creating.  We are using Visual Studio .NET to create the program and it is very versatile and allows the windows to scale.  When we use normal icons and images they get very pixilated...  The background needs to be transparent so because it is a vista based program.  So what I need to know is how can I create a Vector image in illustrator and save it in a format that is compatible with that program and has a transparent background, allowing for dynamic scaling of the image?

Answer
Hi Justin,

I am not familiar with Visual Studio at all, but can suggest you try saving the images out as .svg files. These remain vector which means scalability is not an issue.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Your best option to start with is from the other end and see what image file types your application can import.

Thanks

Kevin
