Adobe Illustrator/Illustrator eps resizes when placed in photoshop

Question
Hi Kevin,
I have a 60 x 40pt;, eps text, background & png, created in illustrator, when I place into photoshop the 60 x 40 becomes 80 x ?, if I then scale down, resolution suffers. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Answer
Hi Paula,

Size doesn't matter in this case, its your resolution of the PS file.

When you place this in PS, you should have the ability to resize this down before accepting the place, which will help with the rasterization. However, if you are placing this image in a 72 ppi (web res) file, it will bitmap this no matter what you do.

My suggestion is to open this in Photoshop, not place it in a new doc. This way you can designate the resolution in the eps conversion options that comes up. Then you can work in this file instead of placing.

Thanks

Kevin
