Subject: Linked object in eps disappear after saving when placed

Question
I opened a EPS that was sent to by someone else, there was linked object/file in the EPS, but when after opened it up and do a save, then I open a new document and place this EPS and embed it, the linked object/file that was suppose to be in there disappeared... How do I solve this problem??? Is there anything to do with my save setting???

Answer
Hi Ken,

You will need to embed the linked image in the eps before you save and place. When you embed an eps into another document, it needs all linked files to be embedded in the eps. Embedding the parent .eps file does not automatically embed the linked resource files so you need to do this in Illustrator.

If the linked files were not sent with the file, you will need to get them.

Thanks

Kevin
