Subject: cannot continue preview

Question
..working in a 300dpi file 18X16".. complicated design. Very slow. dragging
sections /grouping ungrouping...get message that"cannot continue preview
..then I click OK and eveyrthing turns black and white...... ...I have 4 GB Ram   
a new imac 24" dual core intel.... OS 10.5.2. have all other apps closed.. It's
taking forever to complete this deign... everything is moving at a crawl.
maybe you have an idea?

Hi Sue,

Believe it or not, 4G RAM may not be enough! System software, depending on your font management takes up to 1G if not more before you even open the application.

Here are something you can try. Go to Effects>Document Effects Raster Settings and make sure it is set to 72ppi (for now). This will speed up any redrawing of complex effects.

When you go to final art and print, you can change it back one last time.
