Adobe Illustrator/expanded layers

Question
Hi Kevin, whenever I open an Illustrator file, layers that contain sublayers are expanded, even if they were collapsed when I closed the file. It's very tedious to collapse each layer whenever I open a file. Is there any way to default to collapsed layers? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Linda,

This is a common problem with Illustrator which only has one option. You can choose to show only the layers, and not the sublayers/objects under the options menu in the layers palette. (Panel options>Show only layers).

Unfortunately, there is no option for auto-collapsing layers. Wish there was.

Thanks

Kevin
