Adobe Illustrator/FILLING IN

Question
Hi Kevin, This might be a stupid question. I don't really know much about Illustrator, but i need to send in an assignment where I outline a photo and then fill it so it looks like a cartoon. I've done the outlines and they all join but the problem is it won't let me fill. Please Help!!

Answer
Hi Sam,

First, delete the photo or move it off to the side out of the way.

Then make sure you are in preview mode, not outline mode (view>preview/outline).

Next select your path that you want to fill in, and in the toolbar make sure you have the fill swatch in front (click on it once), not the stroke swatch.

Then click on a color in the swatches palette. It should fill in with that color.

Let me know if it does not at all.

Thanks

Kevin
