Adobe Illustrator/Fonts - Adobe Illustrator

Question
Our company uses a true type font (briquet) that is not very common and I have never found this font included in anybody's software package. An advertising company we are working with that uses Adobe Illustrator is telling us that they can not reproduce our ad using this font. I'm fairly confident that the font is not installed in the windows fonts directory on the computer they are using. If I provide the .ttf file and they install it in the fonts folder, can it then be used in Adobe Illustrator?

Answer
Hi Steven,

Not necessarily. Mac true type fonts do not translate to Windows at all and vice versa. The Illustrator file will be seamless, but the fonts are the lynchpin. If your ad agency uses a mac, you may have to find a more compatible font. If you are going PC to PC, you can give them the font along with the file and they should be able to install it.

If they do not need to change the text, you can create outlines, but they will be a static image and not editable.

Thanks
