Adobe Illustrator/Limits artboard

Question
Hello,

I'm creating a design, but the document has to have the following measures: 600cm x 250cm.

When i open a new document in Illustrator CS2, and enter this measures, the program says "The value must be between 0,04cm and 577,95cm".

So...how can i have a solution for this? Is there a way?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Pedro,
Unfortunately the biggest size you can work with is
577.9557 CM x 577.9557 CM. You cannot go bigger that that size in Adobe Illustrator.

The solution is to change your dimensions to 50% of the original size. In your case, make your document 300 cm x 125 cm.

Ask the company who will print the file for you to scale the file to 200% so that you get the original size that you need which is 600 cm x 250 cm.

Due to the poster board limitation in Illustrator this is the solution used by designers when working with such big sizes. Many sign shop use Corel Draw because it has a much bigger poster board than Illustrator.

I hope that the above information was clear and helpful. Please don't hesitate o send me a follow up if you have any other question.

Good luck,

Laith
