Adobe Illustrator/Merge brushes, symbols, swatches

Question
I have a series of documents in CS3. They are all parts of a much larger map that I have in pieces to keep working file size down. When I combine the files by cutting and pasting the separate parts into one bigger file, each original brings it's own copy of brushes, symbols and swatches with it. Each set of  brushes, etc has the same origin and is identical, but I still get several copies of each symbol or brush that I use. ie an identical version of my 'embankment' brush comes in for each document.

Can I merge these brushes, symbols & swatches so as to have a minimal set in my final composite document?

Answer
Hi Alan,

Unfortunately, there is no automated way to merge brushes together like the swatches palette can. You will either have to expand the brush strokes before you copy over, or manually delete the duplicates once you paste them in.

Thanks

Kevin
