Adobe Illustrator/Avenir fonts

Hi Kevin,  I am trying to assist a customer with an issue she receives when trying to save files using the Avenir fonts.  She gets an error "The font Avenir-Book could not be embedded in the PDF document, because of licensing restrictions.  Stroked text will not be visible"  I'm wondering if the customer purchased the Avenir family suite from LinoType would she then be able to unlock them.

Hi John,

The issue is that some fonts have severe licensing restrictions on them that do not allow you to create a PDF from the fonts. Purchasing the font will not change the fact that it has these restrictions on it.

The workaround is to create outlines first then save out the PDF (if it allows you to do that!).
