Adobe Illustrator/Bounding Box Resizing Issue

Question
I've found this question posted everywhere, but no answer. I cannot resize thanks to some random hotkey I've hit by accident. Yes, my view bounding box is on. I can see the anchors on every object I click on. But I cannot drag to resize. This is driving me nuts. My co-worker agrees she'd done it once before too, and found the answer online, but sadly failed to bookmark it. HELP!

Answer
Hi Jen,

Are you using the direct select tool (white arrow) or the selection tool (black arrow)?

Resizing using the bounding box only works with the selection tool.

If you select an object with the selection tool and everything on the page is selected, you may have to ungroup or release a clipping mask.

Thanks
