Question
Hi I recently was workign with an image when opened in Illustrator or Photoshop it had no rectangle bounding box. The imge did open within a rectangle but the image background was transparent. I opened the imge into Illustrator and I had a border around the image itself (path of the transparent image) not the rectangle bounding box, how is the achieved? How can I export my graphics from photoshop CS2 so that when I open them in Illustrator they have no bounding box and the image has the correct path I wish to achieve. Hope this is understandable, I dont know how to explain, so I did my best. Thanks in advance

Answer
Daniel,

You can toggle to bounding box on and off in the view menu (shift+apple/cmd(pc)+B). You can also turn off the "border" or edges in the view menu as well (apple/cmd(pc)+H).

If you are trying to import a PS file with a clipping path already embedded in the file, in PS go to file>export>paths to illustrator. Then you will have to place the original PS image first, then open and copy/paste the paths into illustrator over top of the image.

Thanks
