Adobe Illustrator/Problems when saving in ai8 format

Question
Hi,I've been requested by a vector stock company to upload vectors in the eps legacy ai8 format. The problem is that after saving and re-opening the file in illustrator to check it i can see white line or stitches around the areas which contain or contained transparency. I'm using cs2 in windows xp.
This problem doesn't occur in any other format apart from the one everyone seems to require.
Please could you share some light on the situation, thanks alot , Cal

Answer
Hi Calum,

I receive this question quite frequently and submit a lot of things to stock illust. sites myself.

The explanation I received is that they have you save back to v.8 is it is the least common denominator for a version that people can read.

Unfortunately, what this means is most effects from CS2 do not translate smoothly into version 8. You may need to simplify the illustration and remove some of the effects.

Thanks

Kevin
