Question
QUESTION: I have a dell system with dual monitors. My 'open' and save as, or help windows are invisible when i have Illustrator or InDesign open on the right monitor.  If i launch the program onto the left monitor I can access these windows.  When I changed monitors, left to right in the 'make this the primary monitor' control setting, I still have the same problem.  I have deleted aiprefs, version cue.xml prefs and reinstalled cs2. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please,

ANSWER: Hi Deborah,

Sorry you took time to reinstall your apps, etc. because that will not help.

Adobe CS2 products are always set to a primary monitor. When you have two monitors, it will always be the left monitor (primary). It is a known conflict with dual monitors.

The easiest solution I have is to physically move the monitors. There is no way to change a preference in CS2. We had this issue for a long time and I know how it bothered some of us. We ended up just moving the monitors around. Sounds silly but it worked.

Sorry!

Thanks

Kevin

QUESTION: Thanks Kevin - do you know if the issue has been resolved in CS3?

Answer
hi Deborah,

Yes it has technically been resolved with CS3, but some users have reported issues with Bridge and PS not transferring properly. It keeps getting better though. Our dual monitor setups have been fine with CS3 (but be sure to run all updates before finishing!).

Thanks

Kevin
